TOWNSEND, Lenny
Leonard J. Townsend was born at Colchester, Essex in 1951, son of Stanley James Townsend (19 July 1925-1998) and his wife Pauline née Proudfoot (29 June 1925-27 June 2018). When young, the family moved to Wrentham, Suffolk and Lenny's love of outdoor activities influenced his passion for painting marine and landscape scenes. He married in the Waveney district of Suffolk in 1977, Francesca Burbury, Francesca Townsend. A self-taught watercolour artist and a member of the Southwold Art Circle and was also an elected candidate member of the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists and of the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists from Wenhaston, Suffolk. Lenny has also exhibited from Wenhaston, Halesworth, Suffolk at Wymondham, Norfolk, Aldeburgh Gallery, and Blaxhall Art Exhibition both in Suffolk and at the Royal Norfolk Show.
