DODDS, Julie
Julie A Dodds was born in Ipswich in 1963. Julie studied Fine Art at the University of Suffolk and works from her studio in Ipswich. She creates powerful and atmospheric wire sculptures and has taught the basic techniques of the medium at the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. As well as wire Julie also works in pencil, ink, watercolour, acrylic, and gold leaf and Julie’s fascination with history and folklore, with tales of mystery and magic, often linked to specific local places, combine to produce a surreal, otherworldly quality in her work. Julie who was a member of Holywells Creatives exhibited in group exhibitions at the Ipswich law firm Prettys Art, at the Atrium Studios at the University of Suffolk, Grundisburgh House Gallery and regularly at the Pond Gallery at Snape Maltings Galleries.
