JOHNSON, Ilona
Ilona Johnson studied at Hornsey followed by Maidstone College of Art and was accepted into the Royal College of Art to study environmental media. Ilona is a mixed media fine artist in a variety of media including printmaking, painting, drawing & collage using found objects. Much of her recent work focuses on place and landscape, in particular the way light & shape inform its character. Throughout her career she has always been interested in the diverse ways she can represent form through various technical disciplines, with her subjects ranging from landscapes to still lives & portraits. She has exhibited at the Royal Academy; Mall Gallery; Walthamstow Museum; Gainsborough’s House, Sudbury; Colchester Minories and elsewhere and is a member of Suffolk Open Studios from 34 Plough Lane, Sudbury, Suffolk. Museums and private collectors have purchased her work. Ilona has also worked as an Art Psychotherapist for 30 years and has both a master's in Art Psychotherapy from St Albans and Visual Theory from the University of East Anglia.
