HAZLEWOOD, Robin
Robin Hazlewood was born in Meriden, Warwickshire in March 1944, son of Ernest Roland Hazlewood (25 November 1907-2003) and his wife Nellie née Parker (17 June 1910-1993), who married at Coventry in 1936. Robin was educated at King Henry VIII school, Coventry 1951-1959 and studied at Coventry College of Art1960-1965 for a National Diploma in Design, followed by post-graduate study at Liverpool School of Art. His academic posts have included Head of Putney School of Art, London; Dean of Sir John Cass School of Art, London, and Vice Provost at London Guildhall University now the London Metropolitan University, 1992-1995, a member and treasurer of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours 2004-2016 and Vice President from 2017. He has exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy; the Royal Watercolour Society; Royal Society of Marine Artists; Royal College of Art, London; The Watercolours and Drawings Fair, Park Lane; Singer & Friedlander, London; The Laing Art Competitions at Mall Galleries, London. He is the author of 'An Introduction to Drawing' (2020).
