Amanda Barrett

Amanda Michelle Barrett studied Renaissance Art at the British Institute, Florence, Fine Art Painting at Brighton College of Art, and Graphic Design at Chelsea School of Art. Having been a graphic designer and illustrator in the UK and Australia, in 2018 Amanda returned to her original skill and discovered 'en plein air' painting thanks to James Colman (12 January 1962-) founder of Paint Out Norwich and Michael Carlo who showed her the art of wood cutting and print making and she has spent the past few years painting more 'en plein air'. Amanda is now based at Newmarket, Suffolk with her husband and children, her art practice now focuses on observation, rhythm and stroke-making, and the use of colour in transparency and layers. Amanda has exhibited with Suffolk Open Studios and at the Royal Society of Marine Artists; Suffolk Art Society; Cambridge Drawing Society and in Malta and elsewhere.
