SIMPSON, Ruth
Ruth Helen Simpson studied at the University of Central Lancashire graduating B.A. (hons). After graduation she felt the pull back to East Anglia where her love of painting developed and her career in Fine Art began. Ruth is a Suffolk based contemporary artist, living near Hessett, Bury St Edmund's in a stunning location surrounded by rolling hills and ancient coppice woods. Over recent years Ruth's painting techniques have flourished, and Ruth is able to capture the drama and emotion of a scene, these landscapes on Ruth's doorstep inspire her paintings and, working mostly in acrylic paints and inks, Ruth recreates nature's theatre and portrays the natural world. Many of her paintings show swathes of wildflowers that have self-seeded on field edges and in cottage gardens. Ruth is a member of the Iceni Botanical Artists and exhibits at Artspace Woodbridge, Makers Gallery, Chapel Yard, Holt, Norfolk, Bell Gallery, Bungay, Suffolk, Snape Maltings Galleries in Suffolk and elsewhere.
