Tammany Jean Hunt was born at Ipswich. A self-taught artist, her practise has evolved through a variety of experimental methods, and she is always searching for new inspiration but her fascination with portraiture frequently calls her back. Tammy's pieces have settled upon a style that demonstrates a love of strong tonal values and fluid use of oil paint, pulled, or pushed across the surface to leave visible yet subtle brush marks. She likes to work quickly, feeling her way around the subject with paint from the outset. She is a member and trustee of the Ipswich Art Society from Sidegate Lane, Ipswich and has exhibited in Suffolk at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe; Gallery 142, Felixstowe; the Frame Workshop & Gallery, Ipswich; Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham and elsewhere.
