SUFFOLK ARTLINK

? - ?

Suffolk Artlink was established in the early 1980s as a member of the National Shape Network, working across Suffolk to focus on disability arts. In 1994 they were taken under the umbrella of Optua (formerly Rethink Disability). Following a feasibility study they developed towards becoming an independent arts inclusion agency and Suffolk Artlink went on to become a registered charity in August 2005, enjoying its first year as a fully operational arts and social inclusion charity in 2006. Since then Suffolk Artlink has gone from strength to strength, running numerous projects across Suffolk. With an ever-changing programme of projects, as well as a few old favourites, they are constantly evolving to bring unique and exciting arts opportunities, improving lives and inspiring many in the community with arts access for all. Suffolk Artlink are a participatory arts charity developing and delivering inclusive arts programmes in communities, bringing change to people’s lives. As artists, they know the valuable role creativity plays in lives they are hoping to raise awareness of the excellent work Suffolk Artlink does whilst at the same time raise funds. Suffolk Artlink develops and delivers inclusive arts programmes in communities that bring skills, support networks, confidence, and joy to people in the East. Their work is led by experienced arts practitioners, encompassing a rich variety of art forms, and is delivered in close partnership with care, education, voluntary and community organisations. Their creative projects aim to help people transform their lives through the arts, and are delivered in places including community centres, hospitals and hospices, residential homes, refuges, and schools. Team members include artists Hayley Field and Charlie Meyer and trustee is Emily Godden.
