GODDEN, Emily
Emily Rose Godden was born at Ipswich in February 1994, twin daughter with Alice May, of Paul B. Godden and his wife Donna Marie née Kenton, who married at Ipswich in 1989. Living in Ipswich, Emily was educated at Claydon High School, near Ipswich and studied at University Campus Suffolk, now the University of Suffolk at Ipswich, gaining a B.A. (hons) Fine Art and an M.A. (hons) printmaking. Emily's practice is currently focused on printmaking stretched into its broadest sense to explore, document, and translate both physically and naturally occurring traces through the medium of print. Emily has exhibited work at Tate Britain; Spike Island, Bristol; Firstsite, Colchester; Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts at the University of East Anglia; Studio 3, Ipswich Town Hall Gallery and at Prettys Art in Ipswich, and was shortlisted for the Batsford Prize for Fine Art. Arts Editor for IP1zine which looks out for posts about exhibitions, galleries, museums, theatres, events and private views in the local area, and interviews with local creatives. Founder of 'Virtually There Studio' which has grown into a fully-fledged studio offering bespoke commissions, 360 filming services, education work including workshops and continues to work with virtual reality technology and other media to create meaningful experiences that create positive behaviour change towards the environment.
