Borin van Loon

'Borin Van Loon' was born at East Barnet, Hertfordshire in August 1951. He studied at Lowestoft School of Art 1976–1979. An artist and illustrator based in Suffolk since 1975 and lived in Ipswich 1979-2007. An author, collagist, surrealist painter, illustrator, and comic book artist, best known for his illustrations for the 'Introducing' series of graphic books and has worked for a wide variety of clients in editorial, publishing, and promotion. Van Loon published 'The Bart Dickon Omnibus' of his hero's derring-do in 2005 comprising a surrealist collage graphic novel. Chairman of 'Freelance' a collaborative project with sixteen other artists based in Ipswich, created for Ip-art 2004 which consisted of a book as an art object with pages in widely varying media, all put together by a bookbinder. He has exhibited at the Apex Gallery, Bury St Edmunds; Digby Gallery at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester; the Frame Workshop & Gallery in Ipswich and at the Freudian Sheep Gallery, Ipswich. 'Ipswich Historic Lettering' is a special project devised and developed by Borin who has been photographing examples of old lettering on the walls of buildings in and around the town since the late 1990s. Co-author of 'Introducing Hinduism' and 'Introducing Buddha'.

Robin Gaylard was born at Barnet in 1951, son of Arthur Gaylard (25 January 1910-14 April 1997) and his wife Amy Louise née Simonot (20 February 1911-25 May 2004), who married at Barnet in 1938 and in 1939 were living at 23 Norfolk Road, New Barnet, Hertfordshire. Robin married in Blyth District Suffolk in 1972 Amanda Jane Holman (born May 1952).
