Sophia Victoria Edwards was born at Ipswich in 1994. In 2013 at the Ipswich Art Society, Anna Airy Exhibition for young artistic talent, at University Campus Suffolk, Ipswich Waterfront, the winner of the Anna Airy Award, was art student Sophie Edwards with her painting 'Grandad'. Sophie took a Foundation Course in Art and Design at St Martin's School of Art 2013-2014 proceeding to Edinburgh College of Art 2014-2017 taking a B.A. in painting and the Royal Drawing School, London 2021-2022. She has also exhibited at Gayfield Creative Spaces, Edinburgh; City Art Centre, Edinburgh; West Barn Studios, Dunbar; St Margaret's House, Edinburgh; Edinburgh College of Art; Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh; Ipswich Art Gallery; Enys House, Cornwall and elsewhere. She has also won many awards including the Chalmers-Jervise Prize and New Contemporaries, selected artist and at the Royal Society of Arts in 2018 .
