Genista Dunham

Genista Anna Dunham, was born at Poole, Dorset in 1976, daughter of Richard John Dunham (1943-2000) and his wife Gitti née Niknejad (born 1936), who married at Bournemouth, Dorset in 1974. Genista studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and at the Princes School of Traditional Arts in London for her MA. She then commenced working for the artist Tacita Dean (born 1965), assisting in the post-production of her films. Her training at the Princes School marked a new stimulation for her, with an emerging fresh body of work, developing new skills in ceramics, gilding techniques, fine detailed painting, whilst discovering the inherent natural structure underlying complex design and combining her love for East and Western Sacred Art. A member of the Artwork Group from 126 Northgate Street, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk and has exhibited at Suffolk Craft Society; Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh; Ipswich Town Hall and at Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham, Bury St Edmund's.
