Claudia Boese

As Claudia Böse, she was born in Nueremberg, Germany in 1963, and has lived and worked in London, Berlin, the Baltic island of Ruegen, Ireland, Spain and Poland. Claudia studied Art and Design on a Foundation Course at The City Lit, London 1988-1990 followed by a B.A. Fine Art in Painting from Central St Martins School of Art and Design at Charing Cross Road, London 1990-1993 and a Postgraduate Diploma in Painting at Royal Academy School in London 1993-1996. An abstract painter, her work is process driven and deeply shaped by its relationship to daily life and a passion for history, and has been based in Suffolk since 2002. Artist in Residence at Ipswich School in 2010 and has had many solo exhibitions including at The Benham Galleries, Colchester; Highgate Gallery, London and at Colchester & Ipswich Museum, Christchurch Mansion. She has also exhibited at Royal Academy and, at Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester, Berlin, Neukölln, Freiburg, Valparaiso and Miami and in East Anglia at Wingfield Barns, Suffolk; Colchester Fine Art Open, Minories Galleries, Colchester and at the Halesworth Gallery in Suffolk. A tutor in Fine Art at Colchester School of Art and has her studio at 41 Rendlesham Road, Ipswich and a Full Member of Suffolk Open Studios from St Thomas Church Tower (2nd Floor), Bramford Lane, Ipswich. Her work has been acquired by Abbot Hall Art Gallery, Hamburger Universität für Wirtschaft und Politik, The Priseman Seabrook Collection and the University of Oxford.
