PARENT, Régine
Régine Parent was born in Belgium and studied in Brussels obtaining a teaching diploma 1967–1969 and an Art Diploma in print-making design 1969-1971 and a B.A. (hon) in French Literature and Linguistics from the University of London, Birkbeck College. Régine taught French as a foreign language to English and Spanish speaking professional adults in Brussels 1975-1978 and has held various teaching positions in London 1985, Belize 1992, France 1996, and West Africa 2001. Now based in Suffolk maintaining activities in both the UK and Belgium and is an inveterate traveller and her passion for painting nature, frequently takes her to forests and jungles throughout the world, returning repeatedly to the same spot to explore the ever-changing lighting conditions at various times of the day. Regine has exhibited at Galerie & Fils, Brussels; Laboratoire Goosens, Brussels; French Cultural Centre, Kigali, Rwanda; Bliss Institute, Belize City; Alliance Française, San Jose, Costa Rica; Lessedra Gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria; Wildlife Exhibition, the Mall Galleries, London; Peter Pears Gallery, Aldeburgh, Suffolk and she is a member and exhibits at Sudbourne Park Printmakers, from Orford, Suffolk.
