BOON, Anna

As Anna Liddicoat, she married at Liskeard, Cornwall in 1988, Anthony N. Boon (1960-) and paints under the name of Anna Boon. After a career in the travel industry, Anna settled in Suffolk and fulfilled her long held ambition to study art, studying at Colchester School of Art, gaining a B.A. (hons) in Fine Art in 2008 and a Teaching Certificate in 2011. Anna paints in mixed media but is proficient in all media including drawing, printmaking and her sculptures capture the ethereal beauty and movement of the figure. These unique, semi-abstract forms are created with fabric resin using recycled materials and from those, some are made into limited editions in cold cast metals. Anna is a tutor in drawing and acrylic painting with weekly classes at her studio at 18 Heycroft Way, Nayland, Suffolk, also at St Mary's Church Hall, West Bergholt, and Nayland Village Hall. Anna exhibits extensively including at Hay Gallery, Colchester; R K Burt Gallery, London; Brick Lane Gallery, London; Colchester Art Society; Sentinel Gallery, Chapel Road, Wivenhoe, Essex also, in Suffolk at Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham; Beyond the Image Gallery, Thornham; Gallery 47, Sudbury; Freudian Sheep Gallery, Ipswich; W Gallery, Woodbridge; Elsey's Gallery and Apex Gallery both in Bury St Edmund's. A founder of 'Paint Brush 'n Bubbles', a social painting event delivered by Anna Boon and her daughter Charis at various venues in Suffolk and Essex. Perfect for complete beginners these sessions combines painting, wine and music to create a chilled, fun evening, where everyone goes home with a painting they have created.
