STABLES, Liz
As Elizabeth G. Jones, she was born at 14 Park Road, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk in 1939, daughter of William James Goldsworthy Jones (12 October 1893-19 November 1964), an engineer for Yarmouth Council, and his wife Mary Florence née Ladbrooke (21 May 1902-1980), a nurse, who married at Great Yarmouth in 1931 and in 1939 were still living at 14 Park Road, Great Yarmouth. Liz, as she was known, married at Great Yarmouth in 1960, Gordon Henry Stables (February 1938-) and as Liz Stables attended art courses at Lowestoft College of Art but she did not commence painting until after retiring from a career in nursing. Liz paints both in watercolour and pastel and loves the local landscapes and is also a floral artist. A member of the Lowestoft Art Group and of the Beccles Society of Artists and lives at Hulver Street, Beccles, Suffolk.
