KEMP, Carole
As Carole A. Carr, she was born at Cardiff in 1948, daughter of William Francis Carr (21 July 1916-4 October 2001) and his wife Edna Margaret née Willis (5 December 1922-1990), who married at Cardiff in 1946. Carole studied art at Grimsby School of Art in the 1960s and married at Cardiff, Glamorganshire in 1970, Peter Evans Kemp (born October 1943) and paints under the name of Carole Kemp. Carole lived in Abu Dhabi during the 1980s and displayed her work in four exhibitions whilst residing there, depicting local scenes and portraits of the people she found interesting from their dress and profession. From the now historic dhows to fish, vegetable markets and souks, her interest was varied and rich in subject. Carole is now an artist residing in Norfolk with a studio based in Lowestoft’s cultural and arts Heritage Action Zone in the historic Triangle Market Place. She paints in all mediums, including ceramics and is an exhibitor at the Lowestoft Arts Centre from 9 Belmont Gardens, Lowestoft, Suffolk. She has also exhibited with the Southwold Art Circle and the Beccles Society of Artists.
