Frances Vincent

Frances Ruth Vincent was born at Ipswich in October 1991, daughter of Reginald E. Vincent and his wife Jacqueline A. née Renelt, who married at Southend-on-Sea, Essex in 1986. Frances was educated at Somersham Primary and Claydon High schools in Suffolk, she graduated from Suffolk New College, now the University of Suffolk in 2010, with a National Diploma in Art and Design and became a full-time artist the following year. Since childhood Frances has enjoyed capturing the world around her through art, with a passion for animals combined with her natural ability to depict detail was the start of a journey into the world of being an artist and she usually had a pencil or crayon in her hand. She works in a style called 'photorealism', highly detailed close to a photograph, which is time consuming work and puts much effort into bringing the image to life with extra focus on the eyes. Frances works in graphite pencil ranging from 4H to 8B in density, and smooth thick cartridge paper of the highest quality to produce highly detailed drawings of animals for exhibition and for private commissions of beloved pets. A member of Bury St Edmund's Art Society, she has exhibited her work locally since the age of 13 which have included Parallax Art Fair, Chelsea; Llewellyn Alexander Gallery, Waterloo, London and many in East Anglia including at Highwayman's Gallery, Risby, Bury St Edmund's; Bookends Gallery, Sudbury; Needham Market Art Exhibition; Tendring Show Art Exhibition; Hadleigh Show Art Exhibition; Newmarket Art Fair; Suffolk Open Studios; Art Exhibitions at Rougham and Thornham Magna; Colne Gallery, Colchester Hospital; Edmund Gallery, Bury St Edmund's and at Art on the Prom at Felixstowe. In 2012 she commenced making small, limited edition print runs of 25, 50 or 100, these limited-edition prints can also be viewed on her website and purchased via PayPal. Her studio is at Somersham, near Ipswich.
