MARSTERS, Geoffrey
Geoffrey Albert Marsters was born at Kings Lynn, Norfolk in 1929, son of Leonard William Marsters (19 October 1901-1988), a railway carriage cleaner, and his wife Frances Elizabeth née Horsley (6 May 1901-1989), who married at Kings Lynn in 1925 and in 1939 were living at 4 Metcalf Avenue, King's Lynn. Geoffrey studied at Cambridge School of Art, Bath Academy of Art and then at École des Beaux Arts in Paris. A figurative artist living in East Anglia and had exhibitions at Clare, Suffolk and at Heffer Gallery in Cambridge; the Pastel Society and at the John Russell Gallery in Ipswich. His work is reproduced in several books including Martin's 'Pastel Masterclass', Simpson's 'The Complete Drawing Course' and Simmonds 'Pastels Workshop'. He married at Merton, Surrey in 1968, Carole S. Reimers and latterly lived at The Mill, Haltcliffe Bridge, Wigton, Cumbria. Geoffrey Albert Marsters died on 15 March 2022.
