CRAFT ROOM WALBERSWICK
The Craft Room in Ferry Road near the river at Walberswick, Suffolk was originally built around 1920 as a builder’s shed by builder Harry Block (1873-21 June 1931) of Vine Cottage, Walberswick. On Harry Blocks's death in 1931 it was acquired by Arthur Snow and his wife Grace for exhibiting paintings, pottery, and displaying handloom weaving, also running a private art school for ladies. The building famously floated up the road during the 1953 floods, moving from its original spot near the brick yacht yard to its current location near the Old Vicarage when the Snow's gave up this gallery. The Craft Room is currently situated on the Walberswick Common Lands Charity land near the river.
