CAMBRIDGE SOCIETY OF PAINTERS AND SCULPTORS
Cambridge Society of Painters and Sculptors was founded in in the late 1940s by Nancy Mayhew Youngman (28 June 1906–17 April 1995), along with Betty Marion Rea (6 August 1904–2 April 1965), Elisabeth Vellacott (28 January 1905-21 May 2002), Cecil James Henry Collins (23 March 1908-4 June 1989) and his wife Elisabeth Ward Collins (31 October 1904–17 January 2000), John William Mills (4 March 1933–24 October 2023) and others formed the Cambridge Society of Painters and Sculptors. Other members have included John Bolam (16 February 1922-11 September 2009), Julia Ball (31 May 1930-11 February 2025), Richard Bray (2 January 1955-), Christine Hutton Fox (5 February 1922-16 February 2012), Jasper Rose (10 March 1930-12 June 2019) and his wife Jean Rose (1933- April 2022). Exhibitions were held regularly at Kettle's Yard, the until the Cambridge Society of Painters and Sculptors ceased to function in the mid-1990's. Suffolk artist members included Robert Sadler. An exhibition catalogue for 1983 is held at the Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge.
