LAUDAT, Tracy
Tracy Diane Laudat was born in London, daughter of Cornil Laudat. On leaving school Tracy started a hairdressing apprenticeship and loved to create styles manipulating textures, movement and colour and discovered her artistic flare, after further education she spent most of her working life in education in various speciality settings. The 'covid' lockdown of the early 2020s caused her to work online from home and alongside caring for her family she discovered fluid art. Tracy spent some months studying various artists online gathering as much knowledge and information before she found the one she felt able to be the most expressive and creative with, 'The Dutch Pour', a fluid art technique where acrylic paints, mixed with a pouring medium like 'Floetrol' or water, are layered on a canvas, then manipulated with air from a hairdryer or heat gun, creating flowing, ribbon-like patterns with unique lacing and cell effects, known for its dynamic, abstract results. From her Felixstowe, Suffolk studio, using a combination of opaque, translucent and metallic paints, Tracy explores colour and movement of paints to create stunning compositions and effects that draw in the viewer’s eye ever more closely to the fine details and embellishments that make each piece unique. She has exhibited with the 13th Ipswich Sea Scouts Exhibitions in 2024 four acrylic paintings 'Mystic Twist', 'Autumn Leaves', 'Amethyst' and 'Green Petals' also exhibiting with Artspace Woodbridge; Woodbridge Creative Market; Art On the Prom and Gallery 142 at Felixstowe; Dedham Art and Craft Centre and elsewhere.
