CLARE GALLERY
The St Peter's Gallery at High Street, Clare Suffolk was advertising in 1977 but by 1981 it was known as The Clare Gallery, 8 High Street, Clare and advertised in the Newmarket Journal and Haverhill Echo of an exhibition in November 1981 by three Suffolk Artists Gretchen Kiddy, Andrew Haslen and Jack Savage and continued to exhibit in the early 1980s when it was owned by Mrs Shirley Kathleen Weiss née Emery (-31 October 2011) when the gallery also did picture framing and sold artist's supplies and greeting cards. By 1987 the gallery had been taken by a Mrs Jill Elisa Kaye (1928-27 October 2014) née Dunckley and was still exhibiting in 1990 works of the Haverhill Art Group but the following year the art gallery and freehold property was offered for sale at £185,000.
