CAMPEN, Lynne

1966 - ?

Lynne Julia Campen from a young age had had a passion for art and excelled in the subject at school but on leaving school, worked for a reinsurance company. However, Lynne continued to paint, attending evening classes and teaching herself different techniques as she experimented with several styles and media. In 2001 she completed a diploma course from the University of the Arts. Originally from Essex where she exhibited her work with the Lloyd's Art Group Annual Exhibition, but now resides in Suffolk and exhibited with the Ipswich Art Society and recently with the Inspired by Benton End. Lynne loves to paint from life, landscapes, seascapes, flowers and trees ‘en plein air’ whenever possible and aims works to be completed in one sitting, applying wet paint on wet paint, without waiting for the underlying layers to dry favouring oil and acrylic paints in bold vibrant colours, to give an impressionistic, sometimes impasto style. Lynne also exhibited at the Sky Ars 'Landscape Artist of the Year' a televised competition in 2021 and the 'Hares About Town' a public art event across Southend, Essex when her entry 'English Country Garden' sold for £10,000.
