GALERIE BETTY CHARLES
Galerie Betty Charles at Suffolk House, High Street, Yoxford, Suffolk was founded in May 2025 by the directors Lucy Charles and Oliver Charles, Lucy Charles has worked as an independent art dealer and curator to major private collections and offers internships to students of history of art. The Galerie Betty Charles specialises in Modern and Post-war European art but also Suffolk & Norfolk contemporary artists. Their May/June 2025 exhibition at Yoxford included local artists Lillias August; Peter Burman; Mary Potter other artists included Norfolk artist Geoffrey Chatten (1938-) and they also offer the works of other artists including Stanley Orchard (1920-2005); Lucy Perry; Edward Seago; John Michael Webster (1932-2020) and many others. It was awarded the Association of Art & Antiques Dealers (LAPADA) gallery status in March 2026 and a British Antique Dealers' Association (BADA) gallery in May 2026 and the gallery participates in a number of art fairs across the UK and Europe. The Galerie Betty Charles also offers a rehanging and curation service for existing collections, cataloguing of collections for insurance and probate purposes and making specialist searches for mid-century furniture to match existing or new works of art. The gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday and by appointment at other times.
