Andrew K Clarke

Andrew K Clarke was born in Ipswich. Andrew studied graphic design and illustration at Colchester School of Art and Norwich School of Art graduating B.A. (hons) in 1984. Andrew then ran his own Graphic Design business for some 25 years and in 2017 he returned to painting in watercolours, a medium that he always enjoyed, painting seascapes and landscapes. Besides using watercolours in a realistic and traditional style, being inspired by sea and shore, has discovered the joy of creating more semi-abstract contemporary work with mixed media and watercolour collage. This can be more equated to marquetry, cutting and fitting together pieces of painted and textured paper to create an image. He has exhibited widely including with the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists, Ipswich Art Society, Royal Society of Marine Artists, Society of Graphic Fine Art, Sentinel Gallery at Wivenhoe, Minories at Colchester, The Pond Gallery at Snape Maltings Galleries and elsewhere. A member of Suffolk Open Studios from Brook Cottage, The Street, Washbrook, Ipswich, Suffolk
