Kate Bowen works in oils and other mediums and lived in Myanmar where she worked on various projects and where Kate was asked to make an exhibition to highlight the Reforestation of the Mangroves and after 14 months of field trips, she made a large multi-sensory installation art piece and she invited a Burmese artist Htein Lin (1966-) to make a sculpture to reflect the story of deforestation. She spent four years in Myanmar where she exhibited in group and solo exhibitions. In 2017 Kate moved to New Delhi and studied miniature painting with masters in Delhi and Jaipur and has worked with filmmaker and naturalist Pradip Krishen (1949-) rewilding of the Rajasthan Desert. She exhibited at Mehrangagh Fort and Delhi and mentored workshops on Botanical art in the Desert Park. After ten years in India and Myanmar Kate now lives in Suffolk where she is relishing the stunning Constable and Gainsborough landscape, making new works in oil and water-based mediums, and exploring printmaking at Gainsborough's House Print Workshop and the Curwen Gallery. Kate Bowen is a member of Suffolk Open Studios from Oaken Little St Mary’s Long Melford Sudbury Suffolk and her paintings are lit by her curiosity and love of colour, light and from the gigantic to the micro detail. Her paintings are in collections in USA, Europe, South and Southeast Asia.
