Toto

Antonio Reche-Martinez 'Toto' was born at the foot of Montserrat Mountain, just outside Barcelona, in Catalonia, Spain. His background is theatre and costume design, and for many years he created scenery for a leading dance school and pantomime company and has designed everything from operas, Verdi’s 'Aida' for Olesa de Montserrat festival, to pantomimes and puppet shows. Toto came the UK to study at the London School of Fashion, University of the Arts 2002-2005 gaining his BA (hons) 3D Effects for Performance and Fashion. Toto has worked as a tapas chef, a makeup artist, and a Spanish language teacher has painted live on stage with classical orchestras, and painted murals in schools in the UK, Ankara, and Singapore. Now resident in Bungay, Suffolk, Toto is a busy member of the Bungay Black Dog Festival committee, creating fantastical costumes and giant puppets for the annual parade. He has exhibited his paintings at the Bell Gallery at Bungay and together with James Mayhew, Toto’s first book for children, 'The Frog’s Kiss' was published in 2022, and latest illustrated book is 'Oh Yes I Am' was published in 2024.
