ART IN ALDEBURGH
Art in Aldeburgh was founded by Lesley Rosalind Shooter (1947-) and as there was a need for art courses in Aldeburgh launched its first course in October 2014. Courses for those both new to art as well as those with some experience, were held in a quiet private studio setting in Victoria Road in Aldeburgh. The courses proved ideal for participants wanting to explore their creativity and develop new techniques guided by experienced tutors and with the small group size of just six enabled students to be taught as an individual and this remains an important consideration for their courses. The 2021 and 2022 courses were at The Red House in Aldeburgh when their gardens gave extra space to allow social distancing during the Covid pandemic. At the end of the 2024 Lesley handed the reins of the business to Caro Burberry, one of the regular tutors, Caro has led specialist creative workshops for over 30 years and been a guest lecturer at De Montfort University and has now taken the art courses at Art in Aldeburgh. Suffolk artists who have worked with Art in Aldeburgh include Carole Massey and Andrew Pitt.
