GALLERY AT FOYLES
The Foyle Art Gallery was opened by founders of the business William and Gilbert Foyle in 1930 at Trefoile House, Manette Street, Charing Cross Road in London and one of its first exhibitions was for the Society of Parson Painters. Since the old shop was refurbished, in 2004, the Gallery at Foyles has played host to a constant programme of exhibition and events in partnership with publishers, authors and illustrators. The opening of the new shop at 107 Charing Cross Road, London, WC2H 0LA in 2014 when Grayson Perry opened the new Art department. The Gallery at Foyles is a distinct space located on the fifth floor of the Foyles bookshop and Futurecity is the long-standing curator of the Gallery at Foyles, bringing a programme of public exhibitions to the fifth floor of central London’s foremost independent bookseller. Suffolk artists who have exhibited with the Gallery at Foyles include Anne Grahame Johnstone; John Moppett Perkins; Honor Surie and Harold Wilfred Yates.
