The Simon Carter Gallery was opened by Simon Richard Carter (17 March 1939-31 August 1997) at 23 Market Place, Woodbridge in Suffolk in the mid 1960s. The 1st exhibition noted was advertised in 'Country Life' as being held in December 1967. He specialised in 19th century Suffolk artist and had stands at the Maltings Concert Hall from 1969-1975 and had stands at the Fine Art and Antique Fair at Olymia in London in 1988 and he had a solo exhibition for Barrie Houghton in 1995. The gallery closed around 1997 on the death of Simon Carter.
