HIGHGATE FINE ART
Highgate Fine Art at 26 Highgate High Street as the Phoenix Art Gallery and framers since the 1950s being run by Noel Oddy (1927-2011) and in the 1980s titled Highgate Fine Art, hosting exhibitions by the likes of John Randall Bratby (1928-1992) and Jacob Epstein (1880-1959). Noel Oddy was also the owner of the Phoenix Art Gallery in Lavenham from 1977 until 1992. In 2002 Laurie MacLaren took over as Highgate Contemporary Art and in 2016 Hannah Ivory Baker had her studio at Highgate Contemporary Art. A combination of high rents, and a boost in online sales during lockdown prompted a move to Unit C405, The Chocolate Factory, 5 Clarendon Road, London N22 6XJ. Suffolk artists who exhibited at Highgate include Caroline McAdam Clark, Hugh Verschoyle Cronyn, Alexander Debenham, Joan Hodes and Phil Robbins.
