Colin Ayers is based in Framlingham, Suffolk. Colin has loved art since childhood and over the years has attended various art courses and workshops including in 2008 those run by professional artist Karen Conroy. After a thirty-year career in the NHS, in 2013 Colin took early retirement has attended several courses and workshops to develop his painting and his art interests continue by running weekly art classes and providing demonstrations and workshops for art groups around East Anglia. Mediums include watercolour, pastels, oils, acrylics, and mixed media and his interests vary in painting landscapes, townscapes, and coastal scenes with subjects including people, wildlife, and domestic animals. Colin takes inspiration from nature and aims to capture mood by use of colour and tone. He admires the impressionist's approach, use of bold strokes with energy and simplification. He exhibits widely including from 55 Castle Brookes, Framlingham in 2018 at St Mary's Church, Debenham also at Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; Earsham Hall Art Gallery, Bungay, Suffolk; Art and Frame Shop, Framlingham and elsewhere.
