HACKING, Sam

Samantha Jane Hacking graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in London with a B.A. in Fine Art and from the University of East Anglia with an Master's Distinction in Prose Fiction. Sam, as she is known, is an artist and writer and has exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Creekside Studios, Deptford; The Rag Factory, London; Raven Row Gallery, Spitalfields; 176 Gallery, Hampstead; Affordable Art Fair, Battersea; The Yard Theatre, London; Artspace Woodbridge; Snape Maltings Galleries; Ferini Art Gallery, Pakefield, Lowestoft and elsewhere. Her writing has been published in several magazines such as Funhouse, Potluck, Thin Noon and Cold Lips and is working on a novel and short story collection, alongside her painting and in 2019 she won 'Escalator' award, an emerging writers' competition and yearlong scheme at The National Centre for Writing in Norwich. A member of Colchester Art Society and a member of Suffolk Open Studios with a studio at 6 Harwood Place, Lavenham, Suffolk.
