Robert A. Garnham was born in Ipswich in 1959, son of Robert William Garnham and his wife Pamela Joyce née Tooth (1940-27 February 1990), who married at Ipswich in 1959. After leaving school to study graphic design in Ipswich, part of a varied group of graphic design and illustration students at the Ipswich School of Art. Early career building made him shelve the practice of fine art but never losing its appreciation. Being with Ipswich Art School creative group of designers and illustrators revealed how enjoyable the creative process is. After using various mediums, he enjoys oil, charcoal, or graphite as his most common usage. A member of Suffolk Open Studios from 76 Elmcroft Road, Ipswich and of the Ipswich Arts Association. Robert has exhibited work in many galleries including Ballroom Art Gallery in Aldeburgh, The Pond Gallery in Snape, Gallery 142 in Felixstowe, Frame Workshop & Gallery in Ipswich and elsewhere.
