Bill Pryde

William Walter Pryde was born at Tynemouth, Northumberland in 1951, son of William G. Pryde and his wife Patricia Mary née Stokes, who married at Wandsworth, London in 1947. Bill studied at Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts, graduating with an M.A. in printmaking in July 2003. Working under the title of Bill Pryde, a keyholder at East London Printmakers, Hackney and during 2005 was a resident artist at the Florence Trust, Islington. Bill specialises in small editions of hand-pulled screen-prints and individual mono screen-prints. The small runs are made in his Saxmundham, Suffolk and Upper Holloway, London studios in editions of between two and ten prints. Bill’s work has been shown in large public spaces including churches, contemporary art galleries, art consultant agencies, and at his annual House Show. He has exhibited at the Rectory Gallery, London; Curwen Gallery, London; Dundas Street Gallery, Edinburgh; New Ashgate Gallery, Farnham; Bengal Government Gallery, Kolkata; Old Print Works Gallery, Saxmundham; Ephemeral Gallery, Saxmundham; Stephen Walton Gallery, Bury St Edmund's also at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions and the National Print at Mall Galleries and elsewhere. Bill is a Member of the Suffolk Open Studios from 8 South Entrance, Saxmundham.
