POLK, Evelyn
Evelyn F. Polk, came originally from Wiltshire, and graduated from the Cambridge School of Art with a 1st class degree in Fine Art/Printmaking. Around 1990 she came to East Anglia and her work is centred around the found object, which also overlaps with notions of excavation and the land. An artist in collage, collagraphs, etching, fine art painting, lino-prints, mixed media with printmaking a strong factor, pushing the boundaries of printmaking to a new refreshing approach which is often thought to be a very traditional medium. This discipline is often collaged and mixed with painting, drawin and sewing. Evelyn has had several years teaching experience in art & design and photography at secondary school level and has run printmaking classes and courses from her studio and is a full member of the Suffolk Open Studios from 33 Fornham Road, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk. A member of 12PM Printmakers and exhibits regularly including at Mill Tye Gallery; Minories, Colchester; Echo Arts; Bank Arts Centre at Eye; Art in East Anglia and Art on the Prom at Felixstowe and elsewhere.
