PRING-MACSWEENEY, Dale

Dale Louisiana Pring was born at Hammersmith, London on 17 April 1949, daughter of Percy Arthur William Pring (6 January 1908-19 February 1964), an electrical engineer, and his wife Joan Caroline Rebecca Elizabeth née Basing (3 January 1924-1977), who married at Willesden, Middlesex in 1945. Dale was educated at Burlington Grammar School, West London; Greycourt School, Ham, Surrey and Kingston School of Art under John Mapp. She studied at Wimbledon School of Art 1966 and Waltham Forest College 1967-1970. Dale married at Chelsea in 1980, David A. MacSweeney and works under the name of both Dale Pring and Dale Pring-MacSweeney and established a flourishing career working from several studios in London and showing her paintings in many major galleries and art institutions in London as well as internationally. In 1992 she moved to California and spent seven successful years experiencing a whole new dimension of light and subject, she has since been living and working in East Anglia including at Benhall Lodge, Saxmundham, Suffolk. A painter of oil on linen and of watercolours, she has exhibited at the Royal Academy; New English Art Club; Piccadilly Gallery, London; Hammer Galleries, New York; Montgomery Gallery, San Francisco; Gerald Peters Gallery, Sante Fe, New Mexico and elsewhere in the United States. Also exhibiting at Thompson's Gallery, U.K.; Jorgensens Fine Art Dublin and elsewhere. Her work has been commissioned by Princess Cruise Lines and privately and her work in the collections of HM Ministry of Arts, London; Chelsea Arts Club; Dallas Museum of Art; D'Management, Milan and in private and public collections.
