GIBBS, Tom
Thomas Daniel Gibbs was born in London around 1925. A furniture designer and graduate from the Royal College of Art. Appointed a full-time tutor at the Ipswich School of Art from 1953, taking charge of the cabinet making and woodwork at all levels, at the time this department was in the old Ragged School in Waterworks Street, Ipswich but later moved to the Civic Centre in the Rope Walk, Ipswich. One of his pupils was Jane Stocks. He latterly lived at 220 Woodbridge Road, Ipswich.
