Federico Baca was born in in Argentina and spent his days growing up connected with nature in the foothills of the Andes. Following a degree in graphic design in Buenos Aires he is now a full-time artist working with print, paintings, and mixed media. Federico has travelled extensively including to Europe via Moscow, India, Nepal, and the Far East and, after a time with a garden studio in Leytonstone, East London, and living in the Suffolk countryside at Trundalls, Water Lane, Denston is now living in Cambridge. Federico has eclectic interests, with a flexible approach to his work that involves printmaking, drawing, painting, and other mixed media responses. Through his travels, was inspired by nature and diverse artists including Friedensreich Hundertwasser (15 December 1928–19 February 2000), Xul Solar (14 December 1887-9 April 1963), Antony Gormley (30 August 1950-), Italo Calvino (15 October 1923-19 September 1985) and Jan Švankmajer (4 September 1934-). A member of both the Cambridge and Suffolk Open Studios and has exhibited at Stour Studio at Old Goods Shed Clare, Suffolk; Southbank Printmakers, London; The Fountain Gallery, Hampton Court, East Molesey, Surrey and elsewhere. He has also illustrated 'Pip the Pony' by Zandra Johnson (2012).
