Federico Baca

Federico Baca was born in in Argentina and spent his days growing up connected with nature in the foothills of the Andes. Following a degree in graphic design in Buenos Aires he is now a full-time artist working with print, paintings, and mixed media. Federico has travelled extensively including to Europe via Moscow, India, Nepal, and the Far East and, after a time with a garden studio in Leytonstone, East London, and living in the Suffolk countryside at Trundalls, Water Lane, Denston is now living in Cambridge. Federico has eclectic interests, with a flexible approach to his work that involves printmaking, drawing, painting, and other mixed media responses. Through his travels, was inspired by nature and diverse artists including Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000), Xul Solar (1887-1963), Antony Gormley (born 1950), Italo Calvino (1923-1985) and Jan Švankmajer (born 1934). A member of both the Cambridge and Suffolk Open Studios and has exhibited at Stour Studio at Clare Country Park, Suffolk; Southbank Printmakers, London; Fountain Gallery, Hampton Court and elsewhere. He has also illustrated 'Pip the Pony' by Zandra Johnson (2012).
