MILLS, Sarah
Sarah Mills was born at St James, Westminster, London on 1 January 1838 and baptised at Westminster on 26 January 1838, daughter of Thomas Mills and his wife Sarah née Fitch, she was the sister of Samuel Fitch Mills. She lived with her parents and later her brother Samuel until Samuel's death in 1882. As Miss Sarah Mills, she exhibited from 27 Westgate Street, Ipswich at the Woodbridge Fine Art Exhibition at the Lecture Hall, Woodbridge in April 1887, five watercolours 'Bye-ways in Brittany', 'St Aubyn's Bay', 'Bit of Old Lambeth', 'Street Scene in Brittany' and 'Dolly's Washing Day'. In 1891, an unmarried 52-year-old 'living on own means' at 148 Norwich Road, Ipswich and was still there in 1911. Sarah Mills died at 148 Norwich Road, Ipswich on 7 June 1921, she was unmarried.
