RICHARDS, Debbie
Deborah J. Richards was born at Weston-super-Mare, Somerset in 1956. She studied at Manchester Business School for her degree in Psychology and an M.B.A. (Master of Business Administration). She worked as a textile marketing consultant in the north of England for many years before realising her life-long ambition of completing a fine-arts degree in painting at Glyndwr University School of Fine Art in North Wales, graduating B.A. in Fine Art (Painting) in 2005. In 2007 she, and her family, moved to Ipswich. Debbie's inspiration comes from nature, with plants, trees, sky and animals, birds but often strays into other areas such as portraiture. Her preferred media is oil on canvas on which she can add coloured glazes and scumbles, giving her total control of the medium. Now working as a professional artist, exhibiting, and selling her work through galleries and exhibitions and is a member and an exhibitor at the Ipswich Art Society also showing at the Store Street Gallery, Bloomsbury; Candid Galleries, 3 Torrens Street, London; Royal College of Art, London; Stockport City Art Gallery, Stockport; Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Salford Museum; Aldeburgh Gallery, Suffolk and elsewhere. Deborah is also a recognised author, and her works include 'Jiddu's Journey', 'The Skywhale' and a sequel 'Evil Aliens Stole My Grandad'.
