REES, Pam

1942 - ?

As Pamela K. Ramsay, she was born at Salisbury, Wiltshire in 1942, daughter of Charles Ramsay and his wife Kathleen née Dickinson. She married at Colchester, Essex in 1964, Anthony C. Rees, and paints under the name of Pam Rees. Pamela is an amateur artist who has developed her work in botanical painting by attending courses with several gold medal winning artists. She has exhibited and sold original work as well as prints and she also produces cards. Together with her son Simon William Rees (born 1971), Pamela wrote and illustrated a series of wild life walking books aimed at encouraging families to go for walks and to look closely at the world around them. Recently Pamela has worked using coloured pencils more than watercolours and is exploring a variety of new styles and media. She enjoys papier mache sculpture which was introduced to her by Colchester textile and mixed media artist Maggie Harling at CO3 Studios. Pam is a member of the Dedham Art Group and together with Emma Kerridge [q.v.] exhibited from East Bergholt, Suffolk at 'Art on the Prom' at Felixstowe in 2017.
