CURSHAM, Jane
Catriona Jane Cursham was born at Norwich on 19 May 1935, daughter of Dr Anthony Cursham (14 January 1907-22 January 1991), a medical practitioner, and his wife Doris Mary née Hesketh (15 October 1906-12 September 1983), who married at St Peter's Church, Farnborough, Hampshire on 2 May 1932 and in 1939 were living at Bryn Elvet, London Road, Halesworth, Suffolk. Jane, as she was known, studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art in London where she won the Highly Commended Prize for her painting in 1954 also winning the sketch painting and the landscape sketch prizes. As C Jane Cursham she exhibited at the Royal Academy and as Jane Cursham, in 1960 was a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle from Blythburgh, Suffolk. In 2002, Catriona Jane Cursham was living at South Cottage, Ferry Road, Carleton St Peter, Norwich where she died on 6 March 2015, she was unmarried.
