BAYLISS, Gareth Edward
Gareth Edward Bayliss was born at Colchester, Essex in 1976, son of David R. G. Bayliss (19 September 1944-31 May 2016) and his first wife Gloria née Seager (1949-), who married at Colchester in 1972. Gareth studied at Ipswich School of Art before graduating from Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts and held a master's degree from the Royal College of Art, London. As a graphic designer, he provided designs for clients such as Dizzee Rascal, Mo Wax, Stussy and Habitat. Gareth held his first retrospective exhibition of his work at his former Suffolk school, and he taught at Norwich University of the Arts and continued his relationship with the art school by running a weekend art club for children. On his return to the Ipswich School of Art, highlighted some of his prints, t-shirts, record sleeves and sketch pads filled with original drawings in which he was assisted by Julia Devonshire, arts project officer for Ipswich Borough Council. He donated a work to the 'Westhall Secret Postcard Auction' in 2013 'Phoenix Sunset'.
