MAY, Eleanor

1976 - ?

As Eleanor Ruth Terry, she was born at Colchester, Essex in 1976, youngest child of John C. Terry and his wife Jacqueline I. née Polton, who married in Surrey in 1961. Eleanor studied Fine Art at Colchester Institute in the mid 90s. She subsequently ran her own trompe l'oeil art business for several years and, with her partner Ian Moss, ran the Freudian Sheep Gallery in St Helens Street, Ipswich 2013-2016. Her art is heavily nature based and her work using contrast & colour, brings surfaces to life, recreating them through her art. Eleanor, who lives at Needham Market near Ipswich, is also a skilled repairer of fine Persian carpets.
