SOUTHGATE, Jane V
As Jane Victoria Watson, she married at Sudbury, Suffolk in 1996, Roger Mark Southgate, and works under the name of Jane V. Southgate. Jane was educated at King Edward VI school at Bury St Edmund's and studied at Chelsea College of Fine Art & Design, gaining her B.A. in Fine Arts specialising in Sculpture in 1995, and has since worked as a professional artist from her studio is at 1 Bridges Cottages, Darmsden, Ipswich, Suffolk. Her work is three-dimensional and often contains a textile element and she was artist in residence at Medimmune, Cambridge in 2014. A regular exhibitor at Corner Room Gallery, Framlingham; Fox Yard Studio, Stowmarket; Beyond the Image Gallery, Eye; Waterfront Gallery, UCS, Ipswich; A2ARTS, Bildeston]; Suffolk Wildlife Trust at Lackford Lakes, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk; the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, Cambridge and in Europe at the Van Gogh Gallery, Madrid and Galleria Cael, Milan She also undertakes commissions and runs workshops for a variety of different groups.
