STEWARD, Mary
As Louise Mary May, she was born at Lowestoft, Suffolk on 27 June 1912, daughter of William Richard May (12 July 1869-26 June 1945), an electrical engineer, and his wife Annie Louise Dance (5 February 1876-1961), daughter of Charles William Dance, who married at St Margaret's Church, Lowestoft, Suffolk 20 October 1908 and in 1939 were living at 58 Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft. Louise studied at Lowestoft School of Arts and Crafts and married at Lowestoft in 1936, Alfred Victor Steward (28 December 1906-10 September 1999), county librarian at Lowestoft, and in 1939 they were living at Highfield, Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft with a daughter Susan L [Eaton] (born 10 October 1937). As Mrs Mary Steward, she exhibited at the Royal Academy and was a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1965, from Oulton Broad, Suffolk. Louise Mary Steward later moved to 8 Ferry Road, Southwold, Suffolk where she died on 29 March 2006.
