SAUNDERSON, Carol
Carol A. Saunderson was born into a farming family and grew up in East Anglia. Carol studied at Cambridge College of Art and Technology and at Loughborough University, and since 1995 has been a professional artist. Her work as a painter, for more than 30 years, has remained strongly connected to the land and its creatures. The hours spent walking in the landscape around her Suffolk home provide the inspiration for her paintings but does not record exact scenes, focussing instead on atmosphere, with an emphasis on colour, light and composition, her semi-abstract works record moments of thought and experience. During her career, her work has been exhibited at galleries around the UK including in Suffolk at Snape Maltings Galleries; Lion House Gallery, Lavenham also showing at Pink Foot Gallery, Cley, Norfolk; The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle upon Tyne; Art for Charity Collective and Nadia Waterfield Fine Art, Stockbridge, Hampshire and Bruton, Somerset. Her work has been reproduced as greetings cards and prints and appeared in magazines.
