Debbie Wendt

Deborah Anne Wendt was born at Hounslow, Middlesex in 1967, daughter of David Henry Wendt (1923-27 January 2018) and his wife Catherine A. née Gilchrist, who married at Richmond-upon-Thames in 1966, Debbie is a sister of Richard Wendt. Debbie who lived in Sudbury, Suffolk for many years, at around the age of twenty-five, realised that she had artistic ability and obtained a B.A. (hons) degree, majoring in Art and minoring in Sociology, from Roehampton Institute in London. An artist, who resided at 27 Hardy Court, Sudbury, and entered the competition to provide a mural for the Sudbury Medical Centre, coming second to Naomi Mcilroy. Debbie later moved to Cemetery Road, Ipswich and in 2003, the Ipswich gallery owner, Bob Zablok of Chambers Gallery in Dial Lane, Ipswich, encouraged her to make her living as an artist and sold her first painting, she has also exhibited at Sudbury Community Health Centre and at MF Framing and Gallery at St Helen's Street, Ipswich. Her more recent interests have been drawn towards the abstract works and theory of Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944), and the semi-abstract periods of Jackson Pollack (1912-1956) and Mark Rothko (1903-1970) and she also takes commission works.
